When I look at this picture, I see a little boy with dreams of being a pilot and building a radio station. One of those dreams would require this patient and humble man to endure 10 years of waiting. He spent a decade paying an engineer, a lawyer in Washington DC, and going back and forth with the FCC. It also created a surprising effect of fending off bigger corporate stations with syndicated programming that piggy backed off his filing leaving him fighting for the air rights in his own back yard. During all of this he went on with his normal routine, working full time, driving the Sunday School bus, teaching Junior Church, hosting missionaries in our home, and fighting cancer. All the while still waiting. And then one day as he was recovering from surgery, he opened an email with the news that he had been granted a license to build KWXC.He cashed out the little assets we had which included selling the airplane he had been building for a decade, trading one earthly dream for an eternal one. 6 years have passed since he went home to heaven, and the station is still holding firm having celebrated 17 years on the air. This Christmas I am hosting a fundraiser for the station one that celebrates and honors the work and legacy he left us all with KWXC 88.9. My hope is that this #GivingTuesday you would consider giving to the station? Whether this is your first donation or a reoccurring one, your contribution never goes unnoticed and is certainly always needed. We are so thankful for our sponsors the churches and businesses you hear during our short breaks. Without them we wouldn’t be able to stay on the air. But we need listeners, like yourself, who see and understand the impact even just $10 a month makes. Did you know that in 2023 that with the support of just 20 donors and sponsors one as far away as New Jersey, we were able to keep the station running, improve and upgrade equipment, and keep the good news of the Gospel on the air 24/7 with few interruptions and minor hiccups. Truly every one of you who contributed are making a huge difference in the lives of so many. Gods word is eternal, it never changes, but it changes lives to those that will receive it. You become part of that great commission when you make a donation. Hi everyone! We are currently off the air as we're having some climbers from Precision Tower inspect the antenna. We've been having some issues the last couple of days and want to fix it as quickly as possible. We ask that you pray with us that the technicians from PCI can identify the issue speedily and that it would be minimal in its repair. We hope to be back up in the next couple of hours. In the meantime you can still listen to us online at kwxcradio.com/listen-live or on the Tune-In radio app. Have a great morning and God bless you all.
